First Rental

Posted on Leave a comment

It is official. Our first guests checked in yesterday at Mountain Days We sure hope they enjoy the house as much as we do. While we are a little past prime on the color of the leaves this just means the mountain views are opened up. It is the perfect weather to cozy up on the lounging couch with the gas fireplace going. From there you have choices. A good book? Some streaming TV via Starlink? Watching the mountains while the Turkey and Deer run around the neighborhood? You can even build a fire outside at the fire pit and grill some smores. The choices are yours so who is next?

ET Phone Home aka Starlink

We got the Starlink dish installed on the roof today. It now appears to have a phenomenal view of the ski. The speeds speak for themselves. Who wants to work remotely? We will have monthly deals available for the winter months.

Moving Right Along

The house is moving right along. The update from Brian at Brown Haven Friday was encouraging. The garage passed inspection and will be poured tomorrow. Weather permitting. The propane tank is buried. Tim Hobson Landscaping put down the mulch. The gutter drains are in as well. This week we are scheduled to have a framing crew start on Thursday or Friday. That is when it will start to look and feel like a house. My boss also visited the site yesterday and took some photos and videos for us. So we thought we would share a few.

More Foundation News

We received our Friday update from Brian at Brown Haven Homes. The foundation has passed the final inspection. The waterproofing is done and final grading should happen this week.

We are pretty excited about the grade. When we started this process there were concerns about the height of the foundation. The excavation team has done a tremendous job. The majority of the front and garage side of the house will be nearly level. The rear is only going to be three 8″ blocks out of the ground. This means a easy front access and only a few steps down to the back yard.
